Oh, hey, I should mention that Paste<\/em> listed COPRA<\/em> as one of their 25 Best Comics of 2016<\/a>\u00a0as did\u00a0the Beat<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0ComicBook.Com<\/em><\/a>. Also, the A.V. Club Readers’ Poll<\/em>\u00a0repped\u00a0COPRA<\/em> as one of the best comic series\u00a0in 2016<\/a>. The season of lists has officially begun. [UPDATE: Comicverse<\/em><\/a> weighed in on the Best Indie Comics 2016.]<\/p>\n

Some interesting discussions have been popping up about\u00a0this here comic. I already linked to\u00a0Abhay Khosla’s<\/strong> massive overview (which is strangely unavailable\u00a0but has been rescued by Abhay himself for posterity)<\/a> — but in response to one of his followers, Abhay went off again<\/a>. I appreciate\u00a0that Copra<\/em> gets looked over in several ways, most times pretty intensely, as onlookers always approach it very\u00a0differently. I relate to overanalyzing things that perhaps weren’t built to be held under tight scrutiny<\/a>, so all this activity is deeply appreciated.<\/p>\n

Ron Edwards<\/strong>, over at Comics Madness<\/em>, feels the same way<\/a>. All the topics brought up are important to me, so I’m happy that\u00a0the discussion is\u00a0being cultivated. Ron wrote\u00a0a piece on Mark Gruenwald<\/a> which at a glance, I basically disagree with, but I look forward to forming a rebuttal when I get the chance. Like I said, I’m into these discussions.<\/p>\n

There’s also a Copra write up by Kim O’Connor<\/a><\/strong> in the inaugural issue of Critical Chips<\/a><\/em>, edited by Zainab Akhtar<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(who ran a feature on her Comics & Cola<\/em> blog called Comics Shelfie in\u00a0which I contributed to long ago<\/a>). Anyway, I’ve yet to read the piece in question (copy’s in the mail), but I like Kim’s writing<\/a> so I’m very much looking forward to it. [UPDATE: Got my copy, read it, loved it. Now available digitally.<\/a>]<\/p>\n
